Firefighter David Burton’s career with Temple Terrace Fire Department began just over two years ago. In that short time, he has become a dedicated participant in nearly every pride-building opportunity that has come his way. He is an active member of two of the department’s competitive skills teams; the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and the Advanced Life Support (ALS) team. He is also a member of the department’s Honor Guard detail and is currently serving as a trustee on both the Temple Terrace Firefighter’s Benevolent Association and the Firefighter’s Union, Local #3582. It is through these efforts that he has distinguished himself as an indispensable asset to our department on the front line of emergency responses as well as back at the station.

Firefighter Burton has not only embraced the challenges of working in a smaller department, he has taken it upon himself to ensure that TTFD retains its sense of history, pride, and camaraderie on a daily basis. Since being hired on March 9, 2015, his goal has been to build upon the generations before him and shape the future for those to come.

Firefighter Burton is a dedicated family man to his wife Jessica and four teenage daughters Carli, Katie, Makenzie, and Madison. We are proud to honor him as Temple Terrace Fire Department’s 2016 Firefighter of the Year.
