Trooper Timothy J. Sleyzak II

Trooper Timothy J. Sleyzak II was the lead investigator on multiple felony cases in 2014. His exemplary efforts brought successful prosecution to these cases and closure to victims.

On May 9, 2014, Trooper Sleyzak successfully talked a suicidal man down from the top of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. His persuasions prevented tragedy and gave the man a second chance at life.

On June 26, 2014, Trooper Sleyzak responded to an overturned and smoking vehicle, with entrapment. Trooper Sleyzak fearlessly forced himself into the vehicle to bring the driver to safety.

On August 6, 2014, Trooper Sleyzak responded to a Hit and Run involving serious bodily injury. Witnesses stated the at fault vehicle was traveling over 100mph in a 45mph zone before it struck the second vehicle, sending five occupants to the hospital. The impact of vehicles ejected the suspect’s passenger into the roadway. The driver fled on foot. Through extensive use of law enforcement investigative skills, social media, and public outreach, Trooper Sleyzak located and arrested the suspect on multiple felonies.

On August 31, 2014, an altercation occurred inside an establishment on U.S. 19. A Security Officer attempted to subdue an individual involved in a firearm related incident. The altercation moved to the parking lot where the suspect entered his vehicle and ran over the Security Officer. Trooper Sleyzak expertly utilized surveillance and local media to locate the suspect.

Trooper Sleyzak has been with the Florida Highway Patrol since March of 2011, and is assigned to the Pinellas district. He is engaged to Brittany White.
