Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Deputy of the Year - Corporal Mark Clark

Corporal Mark Clark has been with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for 23 years.  Prior to being hired by the Sheriff’s Office in 1987, he served in the U. S. Army for 4 years in an active duty status. After 4 years, he continued serving in the Army Reserve, during which time he was deployed to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm for a year.
 
During his career, Corporal Clark has worked in Patrol, as a Traffic Homicide Investigator, as a Motor Unit, and as an Administrative Deputy prior to being promoted to Corporal. He continued as an Administrative Corporal, bearing the responsibility of assisting the District Commander with the operations of the District IV Sheriff’s Office. He transferred to the District IV Traffic Corporal position where he was responsible for the Motor Squad, the DUI Squad, and the Traffic Homicide Squad.
 
In 2007, he returned to patrol and assumed duties of a squad corporal.  He is responsible for nine deputies reporting directly to him. Additionally, he sits on a number of the Sheriff’s committees helping to guide the Sheriff’s Office into the future. Over the past three years, he has become an invaluable asset in helping the Sheriff’s Office transition from a traditional paper reporting system to a new, paperless computerized system.

Recently, he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University.
