Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Deputy of the Year - Detective Christopher Rule
Detective Chris Rule began his
career at the Sheriff’s Office in 2002 as a Patrol Deputy in the
District III area. Detective Rule was transferred to the Special
Investigations Division in 2006 and assigned to the Robbery and Copper
Task Force in an effort to combat Robberies and Copper thefts.
Remaining in the division, Detective Rule was assigned to the Sheriffs
Target Area Response Unit (S.T.A.R), Narcotics Section and is currently
assigned to one of the division’s Tactical Intelligence Teams.
Detective Rule also voluntarily served five years with the Underwater
Recovery Unit.
Detective Rule is a Tampa native, a second generation Deputy with the
Sheriff’s Office, dedicated to making his community a safer place to
live. Through his covert operations, Detective Rule is committed to
Intelligence Lead Policing and makes these labors successful by
investigating Hillsborough County’s more Prolific Felony Offenders.
Recognizing his commitment and exceptional efforts, Detective Rule has
received the Medal of Distinguished Service, (3) three Life Saving
Awards and several Letters of Commendation.
Corporal Mark Clark has been
with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for 23 years. Prior
to being hired by the Sheriff’s Office in 1987, he served in the U. S.
Army for 4 years in an active duty status. After 4 years, he continued
serving in the Army Reserve, during which time he was deployed to Saudi
Arabia during Operation Desert Storm for a year.
