Tampa International Airport Police Department Officer of the Year - Officer Jeremy Calvert

Master Officer Jeremy Calvert has been a member of the Tampa Airport Police Department for over eight years.  He is a member of the Bike Squad and a Field Training Officer.  

During 2009, Officer Calvert distinguished himself as one of the leaders in productivity in the categories of field interview reports, crime prevention activities, and traffic citations. He led the department in traffic warnings and criminal arrests.

Officer Calvert has received numerous accolades for exemplary performance; including a domestic violence case onboard an arriving aircraft involving a husband that battered his wife who was eight months pregnant.  After his investigation, Officer Calvert charged the suspect with disorderly intoxication and domestic violence battery.

Additionally, Officer Calvert has been commended for his thorough narcotics investigation of a passenger who attempted to smuggle narcotics inside her backpack. The passenger had just arrived on an international flight from Mexico. The investigation resulted in the seizure of 1,326 pills that included various types of Schedule IV controlled substances.  The suspect was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance and four counts of possession of a drug without a prescription.
